Character Curriculum

What is the character Curriculum?

Our Character Curriculum runs throughout the academic year and supports students' growth in Head, Heart and Soul. You can read each fortnight's focus in the Headteacher's Newsletter.

Head:

Learning is central to everything we do. We are curious about this amazing world and find joy in learning about it. We work hard, we pay attention and we keep trying.

Heart:

We show care and respect for ourselves, our community and our environment. We come together to ensure all feel safe and celebrated. We are kind and polite.

Soul:

We engage in all school life. We are enriched by the many opportunities, by deepening relationships and by developing a sense of purpose. We participate fully in everything we do.

How is the Character Curriculum delivered?

The curriculum is delivered through a combination of:

  • Tutor time activities;
  • House group activities;
  • Year group and House assemblies;
  • Themed weeks and national events;
  • Links with PSHCE and careers education.

This approach ensures key messages are regularly reinforced.
