Welcome to Trinity Academy admissions pages
Year 7 2023 entry
This page contains a brief summary of the application procedure for Year 7 entry in September 2023.
In order to be considered for a place applicants must name Trinity Academy as a preference of secondary school on the common application form (CAF), direct to the local authority in which you live. The CAF will be available mid-September 2022.
Trinity Academy has a published admission number of 180 students for Year 7 entry. If the number of applications exceeds the admission number, students with an EHCP in which Trinity Academy is named, will be admitted before others.
Where there are more applications than places available, places will be allocated in line with the over subscription criteria, in order of priority, as set out in the published admission arrangements.
We strongly advise parents/carers to read the relevant admission arrangements before making an application to the school and the documents that are available on the Guidelines for applying to Year 7 2023 page.
We also advise parents/carers to come and visit us during one of our open events, details of which can be found on the Open Event Information for Year 7 2023 Entry page
Admission Arrangements 2023/24
In line with the School Admissions Code, Cathedral Schools Trust (CST) has determined (agreed) the admission arrangements for the academic year 2023/24 for all schools within the Trust including Trinity Academy. These arrangements are for children who will be admitted to the school at the normal point of entry for September 2023.
Admission Arrangements effective from 1st September 2021
In line with the introduction of the new School Admissions Code in September 2021, schools which are their own Admission Authorities have been required to put specific variations in place to previously determined admission arrangements for 2021/22 and 2022/23.
These relate to the definition of looked after and previously looked after children (children in care/previously in care whether in England or elsewhere), the definition of 'Home', in year admission procedures and how distance is measured.
These variations were determined for use by Cathedral Schools Trust (CST) who is the admission authority. You can view the Admission Arrangements for 2021/22 and 2022/23 by following the links below:
